Nsr Electric Window Regulator

My 2001 2.3 Galaxy window regulator just went bang and the glass just dropped!! :D

 

I just removed the door card to reveal the mechanism which I have removed, wedged the glass

so it's now water tight again.

 

Looking at the kaput regulator which I hasten to add has VW imprinted on it which really isn't a surprise to be honest expected!

 

Rang the VW dealer and was quoted

Hear hear, Funny you should mention this as today I've found the same problem

with my Ford garage. I needed the wiring loom for the injectors, Ford tried to

tell me there is 55 different types! lol i think not! and the one i needed was

there are various posts on this subject around the forum,iirc even in the faqs?

 

if it is the inards of the motor then it is the plastic spool that has stripped and made the cable overrun.

 

you can rebuild (ooo steve austin moment :lol:) it,aslong as the motor itself is working,then EITHER buy a repair kit from ebay.yes they have started to sell them for our cars now,or obtain another motor/regulator and take it apart and carry out the repairs.

 

it is fiddiliy,but do able.
